Pool Tournament Friday 5-29-09

Stef & Karen are in their Pool Tournament tonight, so that means Maddie, Stevie & Lily will be staying with us for the night. This pool tournament will continue tomorrow, and if they win tonight, they play again tomorrow.

I spent the day with Maddie, Stevie & Lily having fun. Then we had more fun when we went to Julia's school celebration and then celebrated Ela's Birthday today.

All of us here got together for a picture on Ela's Birthday today. Stefan, Karen & Koy were working.

Julia's school students had read over 11,500 books. So the principal said she would sleep in a Trolley card overnight to celebrate. The school had an outdoor party to celebrate this occasion.

SIX years ago today....

Okay not a biggie...but 6 years ago today we got our 60" TV delivered to our house. And it still works. What happened at your house today?

Happy Memorial Day today 2009

May 25, 2009 we went to the Parade. Our Gov. Pat Quin marched in it also. The weather was nice in the morning and then it turned cooler and then it rained. Not much but enough to spoil BBQing outside. Stayed in the house and watched old home movies of the kids, from long ago.

Memorial Weekend in Detroit

Daniel left to go and visit Detroit family for the Memorial Weekend. He left on Friday afternoon and plans to be back sometimes on Wednesday. I hope that he had a lot of fun visiting and brings home some pictures for us to share with you all.

Yesiree today I make the step up to the 60's, Sixty years old today. Wow it seems like only yesterday I said that people that old are OLD. Now I AM THAT OLD. Okay, no wisecracks. I am enjoying this wonderful day and all the memories I have up to now.

Happy Birthday to you Tammy G, have a wonderful day today May 21, 2009. OOPS sorry wrong season. But I could not find a recent picture of you.

We have a new puppy dog

His name is Copper, he's 9months old (approximately), and he's a German shepherd mix. Don't know what the mix is... the vet at the shelter (Helping Paws, Woodstock, IL) guessed husky, Rottweiler, Doberman, or tri-color collie. Anything but a purebred! His coloring is more like a Rott or Doberman - because he really doesn't look like a typical German shepherd.

I picked him up on Wednesday because it would have been too hard to have him come for dinner with all those people at Mama's house on Tuesday night. He's settling in just fine here with the Koivun family. Koko is a bit jealous now, and she follows me around... which she's rarely done before. I think Copper has attached himself to me, because he prefers to follow me than Jon. The kids confuse him a bit still, because they're saying so many things at once, and he's still trying to learn basic commands.

He seems to be fairly housebroken, with a few excited accidents, so we're working on going outside every half hour to do business. He knows Sit, which is nice, especially when I need to put the leash on to go out!

Arizona Guests for dinner 5-19-09

Tuesday for dinner at our house we had 21 for sit down dinner. Stefan's sister Krys and her husband Stan came in for a few days of visiting. Suzia and Koy and their kids Ela, Julia and Stevie, then Stef and Karen and their kids Maddie, Stevie and Lily, Diane, Bruno, Michelle and her kids Alex and Lauren, Stefan's mom Hela and Stefan's brother Bogdan, Krys Stan Daniella and Stefan. We had meatballs that were requested by Krys. ( I make mine with spinach and a lot of veggies inside) not visible to the eyes (kids don't read this). The weather was nice and warm, so soup for the kids was outside on the blanket and then inside for dinner. After dinner we were outside blowing bubbles, sliding on the slides and swings in back, riding scooters, bicycles, motorized hot wheels, having fun. We got all this IN before 8pm. Then the crowd had to get going, school and work the next day. Krys & Stan and visited some more with us till midnight. We looked at old pictures, talked some more and just enjoyed each others company.

Nice and quiet before the family gathers here tonight.

It is so nice and warm, let's eat the soup outside on the blanket, no problem said Babcia.

My MAMA is 84 2009

My mama, Zofia L. is celebrating her 84th Birthday today. We (Daniel and myself) are taking her out for the day. She really enjoyed seeing all those Lilac bushes last Sunday. So today we are taking her to another garden type of place. Will let you know where when we know where....

By late evening, Stevie was running a fever of 101.00, Lily had a running nose and Maddie was just fine. So much for the first evening together with the kids.

A roaring fire, some cozy chairs... Always reminds me of days gone by, times when folks would sit around the fire and visit with their friends. We don't do that often enough in our busy lives, yet sharing our stories with friends is somedays exactly what we need. It's something we don't do nearly often enough in our busy lives, yet we need to take the time to do just that. You're here now - taking time from your busy lives. Please - come and sit... Come sit by the fire. It's time to put our busy lives on hold. It's time to visit with friends and loved ones! Please, share your stories with us - we would love to hear them.
