A first Party on Delphia

1985 we had our first party in this house. A belated Christmas Open House Party,... and so it goes..... from then on we had Christmas parties before Christmas.

Activities Week of Jan 19 -25

Just a note to let you know I am at Suzia's house 4 times a week in the mornings to get them off to school. Mon, Tue, Wed & Fri. Koy leaves very early, Suzia gets herself ready and leaves by 7am. Ela either has band or takes the bus at 7;15 AM. Julia & Stevie do not leave the house till 8:15 am. So someone was needed to watch them for an hour and a half in the mornings from 7 till 8:30 am..........Ta Da........ Babcia to the rescue.

Monday Jan 19, Ela, Julia & Stevie have no classes in school. DAY OFF. Went to Enchanted Castle with all 6 grandkids and Suzia & Karen included. After a day of fun there and lunch also we ended up for dinner at Suzia's house all of us. It was a little crowded around the table, but we made do. Stefan and Steve call to find out where dinner will be on that day. So Monday it was Suzia's house.

Tuesday Jan 20. Watched the Inauguration of our new President, after Julia & Stevie went to school. I also went to work. In the evening Steve & Karen have returned to playing Billiards (pool) and the kids stay with us after dinner till they pick them up around 10:30 or 11PM.

Wed Jan 21 Stevie K. was not feeling to good, so I stayed there for the day with him. I made dinnner at Suzia's house, since I was there the whole day.

Thursday Jan 22 Koy takes care of the EJS today in the morning and then he leaves for work. I watch Steve's kids Maddie, Stevie & Lily for the day. Stevie & Maddie go to preschool. Stevie goes from 9:30 am till 11:30. Then we have an hour break for lunch. At 12:30 Maddie goes to preschool till 3PM. I try to put Stevie & Lily down for a quick nap before Maddie returns. Dinner at Steve's house, Stefan came over there.

Friday, Jan 23. Ela had contact dermatities in her earlobes. So an appointment was made that morning, I got her out of school, then returned her to school, got the prescription , then I went to work. We had dinner reservations at a restaurant called Ki's in Glendale Heights.
We spend the evening with Stefan's partner at work Jerry & wife Anne. We had a terrific time. Great food and then there was entertainment also. A band called The Meteors that played music from the 50's and 60's. Right up our alley.

Saturday Jan 24 had tickets to go see a play " Cinderella" on stage in Naperville. I took the girls out for the evening. We had dinner at Ruby Tuesdays and then Suzia, Ela, Julia, Karen & Maddie and myself drove to Naperville for the play. Got home by 10PM. For dinner Stefan fended for himself. Oh wait, talking about Stefan what did he do on Saturday during the day???

He went motorcycling. Yes in that cold weather, temperature was a high of 9 degrees only. He dressed up in his heated clothes that connect to the motorcycle. He has pants, jacket, gloves, and liners for the helmet. He drove to his friends Andy's house and then the two of them drove to Aurora to Danek's house. He said that we was pretty warm in his get-up. Don't ask for my opinion of them doing this on that kind of temperature day, I will tell you #$ ^&**(^&^$)+)"><><*^.


Sun Jan 25 after breakfast we went to see my neighbors, brothers house in Des Plaines. Kazik & Krystyna's, home by 2;30PM. Then started dinner Suzia and family came over, Julia ended up staying overnight.
Steve Karen and Maddie Stevie Lily they went to the Disney On Ice Show.

Well another week has gone by.

Stem Cell Transplant Jan 24, 2006-2009

Yes that is the day that they celebrated Stefan's new Birthday in the hospital as he got the transplant.
As for him now, he is fine and doing great. He is doing what he wants with no limitations whatsoever. Spending time with his grandkids as much as possible and as little with his wife. Just wanted to know if you read that right.
Just kidding we do spend a lot of time together also. Is 2 hours a day enough?

Suzia STUDENT Teaching Jan 12, 2009

Suzia spent her first day student teaching today. I got Ela, Julia & Stevie off to school in the morning. She will be doing this for a few months at Jackson School near her house. I will be helping out for 4 days a week in the mornings and Koy on Thursdays, since he works from home on that day.

Jan 7, 2009....Six years ago....

Seven years ago today, Stefan came home from Alexian Brothers Hospital after his 5-bypass open heart surgery. Doesn't seem like it was that long ago. But I am grateful every day for his recovery from that surgery. He looks terrific and feels great.

Our mini Florida Vacation 2008-2009

We stopped at Janette's for a quick breakfast with them. Then off to Key Biscyane for a few days.
My sister is house-sitting at a house in Key Biscayne with her husband Teddy.
We enjoyed going to a Hockey game, the Florida Panthers against the Montreal Canadians. Canada won 5-2. What was not to enjoy, we were in a skybox. What a treat.
We went out for New Years Eve celebration at the Gulfstream Casino. There was a Neil Diamond impersonator and we were his back-ups. (?)
We visited Key West and the Marriot that Janette got married in 9 years ago.

We are BACK Jan 4, 2009

We returned around 5:30 pm on Saturday. We had left Florida after dinner at 7pm. The temperature that day was 82 degrees, then we get home Saturday evening and it is 36 degrees here. COLD COLD. I guess that is why people live in Florida and other places like that with those kind of temperatures. BUT, we choose to live here. I think it is nice to see changes in the seasons. I just cold not get used to seeing Christmas decorations on plam trees, and lights on bushes and NO SNOW. But mainly because family and freinds live here also.

Downloading pictures from the past few days and sorting them out. I will try to post them tomorrow.

I did manage to get the outside lights off today before the weather changes to snow again this week.
