December 2005, what a difference

5 Years ago today Stefan was at Northwestern Memorial Hospital early in the morning for stem cell harvesting. It took 2 days of harvesting to get enough of Stefan's stem cells. They would freeze them after" hitting them with chemo". Then when Stefan had his chemo rounds and recuperated enough then he received his own stem cells back.

Today 2010 five years and counting....knock on wood.... he is in remission and doing great.

Thank you Jesus for that favor.

December 13, 1985...Piano arrived at our house

Since that time our piano has been played ON a lot. It has "seen" some very happy days around it.

Are there any specific days that you can remember being around my piano?

Of course the Christmas party's come to mind mostly, then the Birthday celebrations. Sto and Happy Birthday to be played always on the piano.

I think a piano brings people a lot closer together, well at least in my house. If they are not closer it is because someone next to them is singing FLAT or off key. Ha ha Ha.
Just a quick laugh for the day.

Julia's Birthday Concert 12-07-2010

Julia is on the drums, waaaaaay in the back. Her head is right under that circle on the stage curtain. Can you see her? We did, but then we had a front row seating for this special Christmas concert.
Julia you were fantastic, you kept the beat for the whole band going right on the nose. It must be that this was your very SPECIAL DAY today, Happy Birthday again.

Breakfast with Santa Dec 11, 2010

Us two and Stef , Karen, Maddie, Stevie and Lily and Karen's parents we all enjoyed breakfast with jolly old Santa this morning. It was a buffet breakfast and then Santa arrived with Mrs. Claus.
Pictures were taken and crafts were made. Then we enjoyed some dancing music with a DJ, Hula hoop contests.
There were games of dressing-up some of the kids as Santa's, then popping some balloons, face painting, balloon sculptures and of course the pictures with Santa. All of this fun in 2 hours. Then the next session would follow after we left.

My good friend Bea J. remembered today Dec 6, 2010

My good friend Bea J. passed away in 2002 on this day. I say a little prayer in her name. We met at bowling, then I worked for her and we became good friends. She died of CANCER at the age of 54. The killer that we all are aware of is around us.

For our friends and families that are facing this dreadful disease, please say a little prayer now.

Sw Mikolaj day St Nicolas Day December 6, 2010

December 6 is St Nicolas Day, as we celebrate it by being good and nice to all. Remember to put your shoes by the door. At least that is what I did when I was a kid and in Belgium. Is this the rule still here? I think not, but at least it was a walk down memory lane for me.

As you can see most of the hats have come off by now, so you could get a better look at our faces. We ate and we sang and we danced and we laughed and we cried and we ate some more and we rang those bells loud and clear. Sang some more and then Santa came and we laughed and had a fun time all evening.

We enjoyed all the snacks and finger food brought by ALL to enjoy. There sure was no shortage of food tonight.

December 2, 2010 Koy here it IS..better late than never.

Koy's birthday came and went and I forgot to post my usual notices. Being in the family you think I would remember our only son in law.

STO LAT to you Koy. Hope that you had a fantastic day with your kids at Ela's game. Seems our plans to get together that night were not to be. I am so glad that we got to see you on Saturday at the party though.

Our youngest grand daughter is FOUR today. We had a celebration at our Christmas party.. She was such a trooper when Santa asked her to come a get a little present. She asked him, DO you know what today is? He said of course, It is your BIRTHDAY. She was so pleased that he knew that about her.
