We have New Neighbors Nov 21, 1999

Yes the time has flown by since that day when our neighbors Basia,Pete and Pierre moved in next door to us.
That weekend was Thanksgiving also. We flew out on Friday morning. We gave them a key to our house and told them briefly what and where we were going for the long weekend. Suzia was pregnant,due soon (had Julia in Dec 7, 1999). We flew down for Janette's wedding down in Florida. You should have seen the eyes of Basia & Pete when we just met them and here we trusted them with our house key. Like.... what they are going to take the house and move it away! They have been the best thing to happen to us. WONDERFUL neighbors and friends.

Working on Stef's window Saturday Nov 15, 2008

On Saturday, Stef & Koy got together to help replace the old sliding doors that he had in the house. One of them was so bad that you could not see thru it. The other door was not working properly either. They started to work at 7AM. Karen and Maddie, Stevie & Lily had gone to visit her sister Julie and family in the St. Louis area for a couple of days. Also was a good idea since it would be cold in the house with such a big hole in the walls in their family room. Around noon Stefan and myself came to help out with stuff. I made lunch for them and us 2. Made dinner and was a gopher if they needed anything from the store, Home Depot. Suzia and the kids came over to have dinner with us and they brought a hot-chili for us to share. During this opening of the windows/doors, Stef's cat decided to take a peek and walk out the doorway to go out. Stef caught the cat, but the cat decided it did not like being caught and bit Stef on his right thumb. Needless to say, the rest of the day he was in pain also. By the evening his thumb was really sore. On Sunday morning Karen insisted that he get it checked out, which was good, since the doctor gave him a Tetanus shot combined with a Whooping cough shot. He also put him on antibiotics, Augmentin 875 mlg. I guess that should hold him for a few hours. I hope that it takes effect for him, because his thumb is so sore that he had trouble doing anymore of the work that needed to be done to finish the job of installing the window and door.

That was the date Stefan's whole family moved to the USA. It included his mom, dad, 2 brothers Bruno & Bogdan and his sister Krystyna. His Babcia Anna was already here at his Uncle Bruno's house in Bensenville.

HALLOWEEN PICTURES to scare you 2008

We had a wonderful time. Even though Maddie, Stevie and Lily were a little under the weather. Maddie had a little trouble running in her Ariel costume, but a little hike of the dress up and she was running with the pack. Ela this year was not with us, but she had gone Trick or Treating with her friends from her class. You know the "older" crowd. She did join us later on in the evening.
Koy and Stefan stayed at Suzia's house to pass out the candy this year.




We had plenty of transportation available for the kids to sit between houses.

It was so much fun to see the kids go to the doors and knock, especially Lily, she would run to catch up to them with her bag, and she would say, Teet Teet, and open her bag. Afterwards she would also say Tank you. She will be 2 in December and already she knows the value of candy. The weather this year was really awesome and warm. No sweaters or coats or gloves this year. We were all really having a lot of fun.

Our costumes were Maddie as Ariel, Stevie as Pumpkin man, Lily as a pumpkin, Julia as Urlacher (football player), Stevie as a Skeleton, Ela as a goofy friend of Hannah's?, Suzia as a scary monster and of course Babcia as the 20's flapper dancer.

JUST A NOTE FOR NEXT YEAR.

My grandkids just loved listening and interacting with this book called, "The Little Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid of Anything", by Linda Williams. They would make the noises that were followed along in the pages. Such as the shoes went KLOMP, KLOMP, pants went WIGGLE, WIGGLE etc. Even little Lily enjoyed making the noises and body wiggles for the pages.
With a big BOOO at the end for all to enjoy.
