MAY has come to an end

Well the month of May has been hectic and busy for this side of the Maca family. Now in June Diane & Bruno will have their hectic schedule of family events to enjoy. The move into their new house went smoothly and it happened in May, so June will be a smooth ride...........

Starting with the first week in June, Diane will be flying to Florida again to celebrate her granddaughter Payton's 1st Birthday with Babcia. Well Babcia Diane was there for her birth so it was nice that Babcia Diane can be there for her real 1st Birthday day. The Kuhns will be flying in to town some time at the end of this month to celebrate with the rest of us here in town.

So from there we go to Diane's Birthday, her Anniversary, her son-in-law Paul's Birthday, Pauls' parents Anniversary, her other grandchildren, the Twins , Alex and Lauren their 3rd birthdays, Diane's dads' birthday Mr. Strusinski near the end of the month. Hey.... oops OUR Karen is in the middle of Diane's family celebration with a Birthday on the 19th of June. Also Diane's friend Darcy has a birthday in June as does Irena and Wiesia.

Also Wedding Anniversaries for some close friends and family members. But I must say these are also my friends and related family.

Friday June 1, 2007

This is the last school day for Ela, Julia and Stevie has already finished his tour of school for this semester.

Ela and Julia will be going in for an hour to get their report cards. So starts the summer vacation fun for all.
I plan on taking these three for a few days or so also to celebrate the end of the school year.
Ela will be going to summer camp as will Julia. This starts on June 22, 2007. From there on it will be a flurry of activities for us to enjoy in the summer.
We are planning on doing something as a family again this year, plans are still in the planning stage of it.

Have a great weekend till next time.

Staying with Babcia & Dziadzia

Maddie, Stevie and Lily are with Babcia for a few days. Seems that it worked out this way for the best. They came over on Tuesday evening when Karen and Steve went to Billiards practice. On Wednesday I was babysitting them, so they just spent the night here. Also on Thursday for the day, so they spent the night again on Wednesday. We have gone to the park, spent time together walking to the park and around the block several times. We also went to the mall. Going to Target with 3 in tow is a challenge. But managable. I went to Target specifically to get a Bumbo Seat. Look into this new New mommies and Babcias' . I will take a picture of it tonight with Lily in it. When Janette came in from Florida with Payton, she had one. They worked great for little ones from 3- 14 months old. They are made of a compressed sponge material and come in 4 colors also the Price is $40.00. But works well when you need to go to someones house and they do not have a highchair or seat for the child. This is very portable.
Well I have some time to get dinner started, as all three are napping since 2pm. They will be up by 3 or 3:30.

Have a great weekend to all.

5-28-07** Ela's Birthday , Memorial Day, Our Anniversary

Yes we did the swimming pool also. I know it was not that hot, but.....
What you don't think this pool is BIG enough?????

Ela standing in front of the window with her sign that Babcia Daniella put on the window

Yes siree, we celebrated all of these events today. Ela had her 10th Birthday today, and it was on Memorial Day. Also our 37th Anniversary will be on the 29th, so we did that also with the family.

Oh I forgot to tell you that in our area of Park Ridge, we have the Cicada's this year. Just like we had them 17 years ago. In case you wanted to see them, my mom Babcia Zosia had them on herself. A closeup for you to see what they look like. AND yes we have a ton of them in our front yard again this year.

Happy Birthday to you OUR dear Ela. You are our oldest granddaughter and we can not believe that you ARE THAT age of 10 already. How time flies when you get older. I know you would love to be 18 already, but PLEASE love the age you are now for now. My cie kochamy mocno Ela. Duzo buski od Babci i Dziadzia. STO LAT.
Happy 10th Birthday on May 28, 2007.

The Koivun Klutz Kurse 5-27-07

Ok, the Koivuns are at it again. This time it was not Suzia, or the kids but Koy, Jonathan. Yes he is capable of things also to merit to get on my page/blogger site. Well it started out as the usual Sunday weekend. (I think). Stefan went to the shop to do some things and I tagged along. Karen was working, so Stef was at home with his 3 children. Suzia was working also so Koy was at home cleaning out the garage with his 3 children. When I get a phone call on my cell phone to come to the E.R. at Hinsdale Hospital to help out Koy.

He had accidently shot his left hand up with a nail gun. You have to listen to his explanation of this. It was bad he said so he drove himself to the hospital. But the time was going to be long so he called for me to come and get the kids to take them home. They were bored in the E.R. waiting room. Also he had left in such a hurry that all the stuff that he had taken out of the garage was still outside and things were not locked up as they should have been.
Now wait and listen, after the x-rays, he was told he did NOT hit any bones but the 3 1/2 inch nail went in sideways like under the skin. They put a cast on his hand till he will be able to see a hand specialist to see if any other damage was done to the nerves, tendons. etc.

Suzia received calls on her cell phone and did not know what had happened, but I drove over to tell her in person what did and she was ok about it till she got home.

This is the lenght of the nail that was INSIDE of his hand. He has the x-rays to prove it was inside.

He is on pain medication and on antibiotics for now. He said the MOST painful thing about this ordeal was the 2 shots he got in his butt for antibiotics to act right-away.

Our Condolences to the Schmidt Family

Our friend Jerry's dad passed away this week. The funeral was on Friday, May 25, 2007. Mr. Frank Schmidt was 91 years young. Jerry is one of four children that he had.

Well the Koivuns have a NEW car 5-26-07

Since Suzia had the car accident last weekend, they needed a small car to get around in and .....
Yes they replaced theri Honda with another Honda Civic. This one is 2 -door and Gray/Silver in color also. The insurance will send them a check for the value of the other one next week. This is better than Koy filling up his Explorer with $95.00 for a fill-up. Suzia's Van takes a lot also. So they needed a quick small car to get around town and for Koy to get and from work cheaper.
Will post a picture when I get over there to take one. For now, we are grateful that Suzia was not hospitalized when the car was totaled, and towed away.

Another Celebration of 5-22-07

Thank you to each and every one that called, emailed, mailed cards and came over to help me celebrate my Birthday.
Did I have a plan for today? Well not exactly, I did what I wanted to do. One of things, had breakfast with Suzia, got to see Stevie. Then I went to see Julia in her last singing concert at this school. Of course YOU got to do that when you have grandkids. I am sorry I did not get to see Ela or Koy today, but I will tomorrow at Ela's last concert. Then in the evening I made dinner for Steve, Karen, Maddie, Pan Maca and my Little Lily. (Steve and Karen had their last regular Billiards night, playing for First Place) . I received another present on this day from them. A wonderful album that Karen had made at scrapbooking class(?) Did she take a class? I don't know. But the album had pictures of OUR Family Vacation from 2006. Wow!! what memories, what fun we had.

My mom also came on my Birthday to celebrate with me. Phone calls I had plenty. And lots and lots of emails. Besides the snail mail I received. I got cards and cards from family and various friends. Roses I received on Saturday from Suzia and Stef and their families. My friend Anna came over, so I asked her to have dinner with us.

Stefan had given me a very special rose, one that will last a lifetime (if not longer) he had one made at work from metal. A cutout.

I also asked my neighbor Basia too give Maddie a trim on her bangs while she was at my house. Like I said my neighbor is the greatest.
It is hot today, the temps reached a high of 85 degrees. Almost like in Florida, I think, or better.

My Suzia had a little run in

Well it was not little, but quite big. She had a car accident in the drenching rain on Sunday around 3;30pm. She was alone in the car, returning from filling the tank up with gas for the week. The car is totaled, but she is fine. I had to go and see her in person to be sure for myself. She has a few bumps and bruises, but for the most part she is fine. Shook up from the airbag that blew up in her face, and of course the fact that the little car they used a lot is gone for now. Maybe it will be fixable? But for now I thank God, for her good fortune in not getting hurt so as to require hospitalization.

Lunch was cancelled by Halina on 5-22-1985

Why? Katie Bury was born, so our lunch date that we had scheduled on that day had to be cancelled.

Happy Birthday to you Katie and STO LAT.

Have a great trip to Poland at the end of the month also.

Early Birthday Celebration

Stef and his newest little daughter Lily.

Pan Maca can't wait for a fork, so he just goesright to work to attack his cake piece.
Karen after work, still has time for a hug for Miss Lily
Babcia Hela & Daniella

Getting a helping hand for the cake with my party hat on.
Pan Maca helped set the tables for the BBQ outside
Dziadzia adoring Lily as she waited to be picked up by anyone.
By the evening this is how 4 of my grandkids will be sleeping over. Well not exactly like this position , but they did sleep over night.
Suzia, Daniella & Stefan
Bruno, Daniella & Diane

On Saturday evening we had a little celebration for my birthday, we did it earlier cause...... Well you know that during the week it is hard for get togethers, especially since the kids are still in school.....People get up early for work etc, whatever the reason, hey the weather was great on Saturday evening.

Suzia had spent the night before at her church for a "lock in" with 10 teenage kids. She was one of the chaperones. Then during the day on Saturday we(Suzia and I) had a fun time at Anthony & Amy's wedding shower. Stefan meanwhile was golfing in the morning and then went motorcycling with friends till 6pm.
Stef had brought over my mother in law, Babcia Hela. Diane came over also. Koy, Ela Julia & Stevie had spent the day at Phils (Koy's friend) helping out with building "stuff". They came for the dinner and cake later on in evening. Stef was watching all 3 of his kids, Karen was at work today till 7pm, then Karen came along at 8pm. Bruno had a little run in....was late for the party. My mom was not feeling up to party time so she did not come. The grill was working full time to give us a quick meal. By cake time the weather had cooled off by 10 degrees outside.

Wedding Shower Amy & Anthony 2007

********Amy & Irena
Amy, Anthony & Irena

Amy and Anthony had terrific weather for an outdoor wedding shower. Her mother and sisters and her future mother in law Irena did a wonderful job on the shower. I am sure Irena can't wait to have Amy in her family "legally". Amy has been a wonderful friend to us all for a long long time. Looking forward to the Wedding in July.

STO LAT MAMA 5-15-07

Sto Lat wishes to my mom who celebrated her 81st Birthday on our vacation on the Mississippi.

We had a great time together just the two of us on our trip. I guess bonding time went well. Happy Birthday again mama.
We did have a bottle of champagne later on in the eveing, not just the coffee that she is drinking here.

Belated wishes to "My Mikey" 5-15-07

From his other mother a Happy Birthday to you. I was glad I got a hold of you on your birthday, enjoy your party this weekend. STO LAT.

WHAT WAS your Mother's Day Like????

Hey, you reading this how did you spend your weekend?

More Vacation pictures

We drove thru some covered bridges (My THING I wanted to see)

Stopped at the Horse Stables in Starved Rock, they were not opened for the season yet. Yes, she wanted to ride a horse like she did for her 75th Birthday.
We climbed in and up, down around some canyons. My mom was not scared to do any of this, as a matter of fact she wanted to do some of these things herself. We hiked the trails in the park. Had a packed lunch to eat there and to see nature as it is in the woods. We enjoyed ourselves for 3 days, and came home late Wednesday night.
The storm that was in process really had us driving very slowly home.

More of Mini Vacation with my MOM

In Hotel lobby by the Pool entrance.
Crossing the River, as I took her picture. Ok I should be watching the road as I drive, but these new digital cameras are great.
We stopped at the Rock Island Arsenal. This looked like an Army Base to me, also at the Cemetary that was there. We had to get ID's checked, and of course my mom did NOT take any form of ID. She said I was driving and she did not need anything. Well they let us in anyways, cause she said it was her Birthday today and they believed her. She looked like any old lady that was telling the truth. Well she was telling it and she is old at 81. Ok now come on ,81 is old, yes she does look good for her age.

Hey you see I was in some pictures also, I stopped at Whitey's the famous Ice Cream Places in Moline area. Ask Koy, he knows about Whitey's.

We also stopped by to see Jonathan (Koy's) sisters, they live in the Moline areas. We saw Susie and her family and we saw Jenny at the Care Center. We also stopped to take some pictures of the houses that he grew up in as a youngster and as a teen.

Oh I forgot to tell you that on the morning of her birthday, I woke her up with music. Of course I had a portable piano (roll-up kind) and played Happy Birthday and Sto Lat for her. She was surprised to say the least, took some video of that only.
