Great America was GREAT 4-29-07

The weather couldn't have been any better for this event,it was in the 80's.
I went along with Suzia,Koy, Ela,Julia & Stevie. We had a wonderful time. Saw the 3D movie on the SpaceJet. Got to go on rides, eat a bunch of goodies like cotton candy, funnel cakes with an ice cream sundae on top and get wet.

One of the water rides was open, The Yankee Clipper. I, of course did not get really soaked, because I had a plastic bag in my purse(what else ? you only need to ask).



Thank You CDW for this day. Lunch was provided by them.

Great America here we come

On Sunday the weather is to be in the 80's, great day for visiting Great America. Only if you work for CDW. Koy works there and his company has their yearly outing to Great America for their employees and their families.
I am one of the family, and I get to go along with Suzia, Ela, Julia, Stevie and of course Koy to enjoy this great day outside with the family.

Stefan went motorcycling with his buddies, Andy B. and Andy G. and Danek S. for the day to Wisconsin.
Looks like we all will be enjoying this great weather today.
Make the most of it, 'cause the temps will go down to the 60's by Monday in the Chicago area.

The Maca's make a move

Bruno & Diane had their big day on Saturday 4-28-07. They moved their belongings into their new built house in Inverness. The weather was great for a move and the "help" worked out great. One trip is all it took to move the rest of their "stuff". Knowing Diane she had it all organized and packed months before the BIG day.

Baptism Pictures 4-22-07

Well the weather was just great. Temps were in the low 80's all day. Sunny and a little breezy. The service went well. Lily just "took it all in" as part of her day.

She was beautiful in the gown that her grandma Dee made for her.
Babcia Daniella gave her a lacey headband that will eventually/hopefully be used by her later on as her wedding garter. She also wore her medallion from Babcia & Dziadzia to be blessed at the same time she had her baptism.
This is the new Maca family. Mom & Dad with Maddie the oldest, Stevie the middle guy and the newest member of this family Lily.

Lily has changed into her more comfortable clothes and is enjoying the rest of the day with Grandma Dee and her Pappa.

Sunday April 22, will be Lily Diane's Baptism Day. The family will be gathered together to help her celebrate this special day. Her godparents and her parents and grandparents, and greatgranparents also. Her brother and sister, cousins,uncles and aunts will be there also. It will be a big celebration. The weather will be terrific also.

Ela made her Debut on stage 4-19-07

Well Ela got bitten by the drama club bug. She had 2 parts to play in, in her play entitled "A Walk Through U.S. History".
Her first part she was a Station Keeper girl way back in the early part of the century. ..... Her second part she was the Statue of Liberty.

A new Babcia was just made....

My friend Donna Woszczak just became a Babcia for the first time on April 9 at 10 27 pm - Charles Alexander weighing in at 8 lb 9 oz and 21 inches long. He has a lots of hair and very big shoulders. He is very alert. Mommie is doing well as well as daddy Damian.

Welcome to this world Charles, and congratulations to the new Woszczak Family.

Coloring Eggs for Easter

Pan Maca got into the act by using his hands to get the eggs out of the colors, which left a nice mixture of ALL colors on his hands.

Miss Lily just kept an eye on all the activity.

Karen, Maddie,Pan Maca and Miss Lily dropped over to do some coloring of eggs before getting them blessed on Saturday. Steve was still not feeling up to par to do this with us, (remember he had the stomach flu)

Looking forward to eating them and using them in the Egg Fight (actually eggs are hit against one another) that goes on at Babcia's house.

Well the flu bug has hit us

We either got the flu bug or the stomach flu. More likely the stoomach flu or the 24hr bug.
It started on Monday when Karen and Steve's daughter Maddie came down with it. Then Stefan (Dziadzia) got hit with it Tuesday night. By Wednesday evening Karen and Steve and Little Stevie Maca got it also. Karen's mom was hit alsoearlier in the week. Then by Wednesday Daniella got it too. So the Macas have been hit. We are recuperating for now. But as you all know that , that kind of activity leaves a person really tired and no energy. So for now we are taking it easy.
Saving up our energy for the weekend to celebrate Easter together as a family.
No, Suzia's family did not get hit with this bug (as yet). Hope they do not.

Spring break fun for the Koivun kids and Babcia

Just thought I'd post a few pictures.

Here's a few pictures of our field trip on Friday, March 30th. We went to Color Me Mine in Wheaton, a paint-your-own-pottery place. The kids painted mugs for Daddy (an annual tradition for us - he has a collection of mugs, and every spring he gets new ones and the old mugs get "retired"), Babcia painted a wall plaque for herself, and Suzia painted a plate to give to Stevie's preschool teacher at the end of the year.

At the end is a picture of Julia, Stevie and Ela sitting in a model wagon, from our visit to Kline Creek Farm on Monday, March 26th. Kind of strange to look at today...! In the picture, the kids were wearing tank tops and shorts and we had the weather to justify that. In contrast, today is a blustery 32 degrees outside, and there have been on-and-off snow flurries! That's Chicago weather in the spring for you!
