A sad note to POST

We extend our condolences to our friend Marek Koszalka on the death of his father on Tuesday morning.


I was asked to pass this info around.
He will be waked at Malec Funeral Home on Milwaukee ave. on Friday from 3-9pm. Then a mass will be held on Saturday at 10am from St. Monica's church.

Stefan's mother Hela was so glad to put this year behind us all.
The BOOK and Stefan walking in from work and being surprised we are all here for HIM.



Besides adding additonal readings from Daniella's view and son Steve's side of this journey for Stefan, she added her side of this journey as well.
I read some of the pages and thought to myself Did THIS really happen? I/we lived thru this? Wow!
Well Stefan will finally be able to READ this stuff, maybe not, he lived thru it.

January 24, 2007- one year

It will be one year since Stefan had the Stem-cell transplant done. He has an appointment on Tuesday Jan 23 with Dr. Olga. He will have a bone biopsy done on that day. I will go with him to the hospital for it.



BUT..... on Monday (Jan 22,07)we are having a dinner celebration in his honor for this reason. All the kids and grandkids will be here,.... so family and friends are invited to call or come over for a quick HELLO to Stefan. I am so glad that he made it to one year. Now we just keep counting the years.

The BEARS WON yeah yeah yeah

Did you watch the game? Stefan did, I did not. But anyhow there is reason to celebrate, now the BEARS will be in the SUPERBOWL.

Remembering my brother ADAM 1997-2007

Today is 10 years since my brother Adam passed away. He was 47 years old and 2 months. Seems like only yesterday we were playing and arguing about things.....Ten years later I can not even remember his face clearly. Time has a way of doing these things to us people. I now try to live each day as the most important day of my life.
I love you Adam.

Yes I have a really great neighbor, Basia, she even comes over to make cookies with MY grandkids.
Each of my grandkids love to have their own cooking apron, with their name on it when they help in the kitchen.
Oops, Ela forgot her apron.
Will it be colored or chocolate sprinkles or zig-zag lines?


Two batches of cookies, and they were gone in ONE day.

My Christmas present

Well we (not me of course) finally got some time to install the Christmas present, it is sitting on the floor, the new dishwasher.
But having Stefan for Christmas here is not bad either.

SEARS and schedules

Seems that working at Sears is working out well for Suzia. Hey, I got a deal out of it so far. I got my new dishwasher. Well it has not been installed yet, but it will be soon. When Stefan gets a chance to do that. For now it is in the house.
Koy and Suzia seem to have worked out a schedule that suits them well in taking care of the house and the children. Which I must say that Koy is wonderful with the kids (as is Suzia).

Jan 22, 2007 Karen returns to....

That is the target date that Karen is not looking forward to. (I think) or maybe she is.
She is returning to work at Loyola Hospital. Babysitting duties will take place again by Dee, Karen's mom twice a week and Daniella, once a week on Thursdays. I know that I look forward to watching all three of Steve's kids. On Thursdays I will be in charge to take Maddie to and from preschool.

Our Miss Lily is almost 6 weeks

Miss Lily will be 6 weeks old on Monday, January 15, 2007. She has already changed in features from the day that she was born. At this time she has the baby acne that all babies seem to get in the first month or so.
Boy, how much I forgot, how much I love to hold the babies when they are this "old". They are so cute and cuddly.

January 6, 2007- 7 months old

Yep, Payton is already 7 months old. We have not seen her since September, but are hoping to see her in February. Janette will be here visiting family then. By the pictures we see that she is blooming very well in the Florida sunshine state.

Have you put away your decorations yet? 1-12-07

Well I have not, I have had a very busy week, month etc. I will try to get to that task this weekend. Maybe.
Saturday is free for the moment, but then Sunday and Monday are booked, I/we will be watching Ela, Julia and Stevie on those 2 days. Suzia is working on Sunday and Koy is going to the Bears game. On Monday, the kids have no classes (Holiday) and Suzia has some unfinished business with the Polish Scouts.

Who is going to watch the BEARS SUNDAY? 1-14-07

Are we rooting for the Bears? I have someone that I know that will be rooting for the Seattle Seahawks. (Pani Dana & Lynn) For now I hope that MY TEAM wins. The BEARS of course.

I am not a football fan, but you cannot help hearing all those things about them and not respond.
Koy will be going to the game with his friend Phil. I hope they bundle up 'cause I hear the weather will be brutal. It will be in the lower 30's, and since we have been in the upper 30 and forties for more than 20 days now, THAT will be cold.

January 9, 2007 Maddie goes to school

Well another one of my grandkids has made that great step. Maddie went to pre-school. It is from the Park district, but still she is IN school. I missed seeing her go into her class, but I was there when she came out. I have been to all the other grandkids first day in and being there is great.
Now to Maddie's first day. Her teacher's name is Steve and we told him that her Daddy is Steve, her brother is Steve, her cousin is Steve and her Grandpa (Dziadzia) is also Steve. They thought that we made up this story, told them No, not made up but true.
She also made a best friend she says, Stephanie.
She had a slight accident, I think because they did not understand her , Maddie said that he had to go shu-shu. Which means potty to you all. They said they wanted to take her, but Maddie insisted her Mommy take her and then she realized that Mommy was not there. But all in all she had a good time. I was there when she exited her class and was so glad to hug her Mommy and Babcia.
Classes are twice a week on Tuesdays and Thrusdays from 9am till 11:30 am.
Thursdays class went a little better Karen did not cry so much.

The BUG, who got it who didn't?

Well I finally did get THAT bug that is going around to everybody. I thought that it would pass me by this year as in past. But alas, it did not. Stefan had caught a cold from ??? but he is better now. I can tell you that waht I got was a quick version of it. I had the viral one not the bacterial one. So no antibiotics for me, just tough it out and I did. All better now. Take care of yourself and if you DO have any bug, keep it to yourself. Ha ha.

Did I tell you that

Bury's went to Cancun for the New Years weekend with their friends Ewa & Mike and their kids. They had a great time celebrating the New Years in Mexico. Andy came and showed his pictures of the 8 of them, enjoying themselves on this great Vacation. They were gone for 8 days.

You Like my new STOVE?

Moving in the NEW stove are Koy and Stefan.

Yes, Suzia received her new stove in January of 2007. This will eventually be moved to the kitchen that is being built by Koy. This all came about because her old oven just went kaput before Christmas and this was a good time to get that new one that she had her eye on it. It also helped that she works at Sears to get a good discount on it.

Dziadzia Stachu, remembered

1991, just how quick does time fly? Well back in 1991 Dziadzia Stachu passed away. What a great father in law he was. We miss him and Love him. Bye dziadzia.

January 3, 2003 Remembering

That was the day that Stefan had a 5 way open heart by pass done. I was so happy to see Stefan come home after that surgery. Little did we know that was only one of his many visits to the hospital that was to come in the next year or so.
Stefan has survived his Chemos and transplants for his Leukemia also. He IS a survivor.
