Blast from the Past - 3 for 1 special !
We got news from Janette today, who's expecting a baby come June...
I don't know if she'll share with everyone, but they found out what they were having!
Keep updated on her pregnancy at their site, www.thekuhns.com - she posts weekly pictures of her growing belly.
On to those photos... I was digging around in some photo albums and thought I'd share a few pictures I found.
Here's one from November 1980... Janette and I were flowergirls...

This one I found is probably from 1983 or 1984... Dig the skates... Michelle looks a bit unsure of the situation, but she's got her big sister, Janette, to help her!

And this last one... well, it's just funny.
I like to imagine that this was Bruno's reaction when he was told there was another grandchild on the way!

(For those of you wondering what he's actually doing... He was dancing with the belly dancer at his surprise 50th birthday party)

Jan 14 2006 Photo of the Day - Blast from the Past
So... I've decided to put up a "Photo of the Day" here for all to enjoy, along with a little description of the details of the picture (the who, what, when, where, why...)
Since there are so many great pictures from days gone by, as well as new pictures that get taken each day, I'll put up a "Blast from the Past" Photo of the Day when I post a oldie but goldie picture. And if I post a recent picture, I'll just put it up as New Picture of the Day.
Feel free to join in the fun!
Posting pictures is easy on Blogger!
Okay...
For my first picture...
It's one of my favorites of Julia. It was taken on June 28, 2000.
Julia was 6 1/2 months old, crawling and always getting into everything.
I had put Ela down for a nap, and was trying to take a good picture of Julia crawling around. So, I was sitting on the floor, with my camera in my lap, watching her.
On this day, she crawled over to the bag I used when I took Ela to the pool.
Inside, she found Ela's purple swim goggles, sat back and tried to put them on.
After several unsuccessful tries (which I caught on film), I helped her out and put them on over her eyes. I quickly grabbed my camera to take a picture before she pulled the goggles off.
To my surprise, Julia didn't fuss or cry or try to take them off.
Instead, she looked up at me and smiled! This picture captured that smile...
And that picture stayed up on my fridge until she was three!

Hope this picture brought a smile to your face today!
Enjoy it! I've got more to come!

A chuckle for today
Anyhow, we put the cd on the other night and were dancing to it, and I started to do the Twist to a few of the songs. The girls were intrigued, and thought I made up the dance myself. I told them that about 50 years ago, EVERYONE did the Twist!
Later that night, I smiled at the memory of the kids dancing the Twist in the living room, and it brought to mind a funny little chuckle about that dance. I dug it out of my archives to share here with you... Enjoy!
"Peggy Sue's not ready yet, so why don't you have a seat?" says her father.
Naturally, this statement comes as quite a surprise to Bobby, and with his eyes wide open, he manages to ask, "What?"
"Yeah," says Peggy Sue's father, "Peggy Sue really likes to screw. And she's gotten really good at it too! She'll screw all night if we let her!"
Hearing this, Bobby's eyes light up and he smiles from ear to ear. Immediately, he has revised the plans for the evening.
A few minutes later, Peggy Sue comes downstairs in her poodle skirt with her saddle shoes and announces that she's ready to go.
Almost breathless with anticipation, Bobby escorts his date out the front door while Dad is saying, "Have a good evening kids," with a small wink for Bobby.
