Happy Birthday and STO LAT to you. May your wishes come true this year and the next. Stay healthy, happy and of course ever so wise. Thanks for wearing the COLORS and thinking of us this season. But did you do the singing when you went out for dinner with your friends also? Nice to hear from you so often. Say hi to Joyce.
Next year will be better. Take care, Daniella & Stefan.

Some Holiday Fun - It's Dominick the Donkey

Back in the 1967, Lou Monte sang a funny little Christmas tune by the name of "Dominick the Donkey" - the Italian Christmas Donkey.

I received this link to a webpage that not only has the tune, but also the lyrics to this song.

So, turn up your speakers... and enjoy!

Happy Holidays!

Abbott and Costello revisited

An updated version of an Abbott & Costello routine... and something everyone who's had to learn computer lingo will appreciate...

Costello wants to buy a Computer from Abbott
ABBOTT: Super Duper Computer Store. Can I help you?
COSTELLO: Why, yes, thank you. I'm setting up an office in my den, and I'm thinking about buying a computer.
ABBOTT: Mac?
COSTELLO: No, the name's Lou.
ABBOTT: Your computer?
COSTELLO: I don't own a computer. That's why I'm here - I want to buy one.
ABBOTT: Mac?
COSTELLO: I told you, my name's Lou.
ABBOTT: What about Windows?
COSTELLO: Why? Will it get stuffy in here?
ABBOTT: Do you want a computer with Windows?
COSTELLO: I don't know. What will I see when I look in the windows?
ABBOTT: Wallpaper.
COSTELLO: Never mind the windows. I need a computer and software.
ABBOTT: Software for Windows?
COSTELLO: No! On the computer! I need something I can use to write proposals, track expenses and run my business . What have you got?
ABBOTT: Office.
COSTELLO: Yeah, for my office. Can you recommend anything?
ABBOTT: I just did.
COSTELLO: You just did what?
ABBOTT: Recommend something.
COSTELLO: You recommended something?
ABBOTT: Yes.
COSTELLO: For my office?
ABBOTT: Yes.
COSTELLO: OK, what did you recommend for my office?
ABBOTT: Office.
COSTELLO: Yes, for my office!
ABBOTT: I recommend Office with Windows.
COSTELLO: I already have an office and it has windows! OK, let's just say, I'm sitting at my computer and I want to type a proposal. What do I need?
ABBOTT: Word.
COSTELLO: What word?
ABBOTT: Word in Office.
COSTELLO: The only word in office is office.
ABBOTT: The Word in Office for Windows.
COSTELLO: Which word in office for windows?
ABBOTT: The Word you get when you click the blue "W."
COSTELLO: I'm going to click your blue "w" if you don't start with some straight answers! OK, forget that. Can I watch movies on the Internet?
ABBOTT: Yes, you want Real One.
COSTELLO: Maybe a real one, maybe a cartoon... Hey, what I watch is none of your business. Just tell me what I need!
ABBOTT: Real One.
COSTELLO: If it's a long movie, I also want to see reel 2, 3 and 4. Can I watch them?
ABBOTT: Of course.
COSTELLO: Great, with what?
ABBOTT: Real One.
COSTELLO; OK, I'm at my computer and I want to watch a real movie. What do I do?
ABBOTT: You click the blue "1."
COSTELLO: I click the blue one what?
ABBOTT: The blue "1."
COSTELLO: Is that different from the blue "W"?
ABBOTT: The blue "1" is Real One and the blue "W" is Word.
COSTELLO: What word?
ABBOTT: The Word in Office for Windows.
COSTELLO: But there's three words in "office for windows"!
ABBOTT: No, just one. but its the most popular Word in the world.
COSTELLO: It is?
ABBOTT: Yes, but to be fair, there aren't many other Words left. It pretty much wiped out all the other Words.
COSTELLO: And that word is real one?
ABBOTT: Real One has nothing to do with Word. Real One isn't even part of Office.
COSTELLO: Stop! Don't start that again! Ok - What about financial bookkeeping? You have anything I can track my money with?
ABBOTT: Money.
COSTELLO: That's right. What do you have?
ABBOTT: Money.
COSTELLO: I need money to track my money?
ABBOTT: It comes bundled with your computer.
COSTELLO: What's bundled to my computer?
ABBOTT: Money.
COSTELLO: Money comes with my computer?
ABBOTT: Yes. No extra charge.
COSTELLO: I get a bundle of money with my computer? How much?
ABBOTT: One copy.
COSTELLO: Isn't it illegal to copy money?
ABBOTT: Microsoft gave us a license to copy Money.
COSTELLO: They can give you a license to copy money?
ABBOTT: Why not? THEY OWN IT!
( Later... After Costello gets his computer home, he calls the store with a question...)
COSTELLO: How do I turn my computer off??
ABBOTT: Click on "START"..........

Have you seen the lights downtown?PHOTO

Even with the snow covering everything, Millenium Park is still a great place to visit.

At the Picasso/Daley Plaza, they have a beautiful large tree. There is a market square too, with lots of goodies to look at and buy.

No trains tonight, it snowed too heavy for the "train plows" to go through.

Can you see "The Bean" behind them? It sure looks different with snow on top!

Getting ready for Christmas

Stefan is going into the hospital (or should I say "hot pistol" as my grandson Stevie says it?)on Sunday morning. I will return home after staying with him for the day. I will return to finish decorating with things that are allowed by Dr. Frankfurt for Stefan's health.

I feel so empty this year, not hosting our annual Christmas Party. But I am sure you all have practiced your carolling on your own. I know it is not the same, but next year we will try to return to doing the party again. If you feel like talking or sharing your feelings this Christmas, please do so.

Till next time - Fa La La La La La La La La. See you soon, Rudolph!

Happy Birthday Sto Lat Koy 12/2/05.PHOTO

Get a look at Koy's face... Can you tell he was SURPRISED????!

Yes!!! Koy, you did get a GOOD Surprise party that your wife Suzia put together.
Staying up sooooooo late on that birthday poker night party sure is tiring, especially as you get closer to that NUMBER!

I am glad to hear that you and your company had a terrific time.
Sto Lat! Wish you lots of happiness again.
Love you much, Mama & Popsie.

Congratulations to Jadzia & Staszek

Welcome to your new home in the Norridge area. Great to hear that you are living closer to some of us as of Oct. 2005. Diane & Bruno are just down to street from you now. Give us a call with your new address. Wesolych Swiat to you all.

Hi Rich & Mary

Yes ,I saw that house decorated with the lights etc. on the news. There are also nicely decorated houses to see in Lincolnwood Area (Chicago Neighborhood). Happy Healthy Holidays to you all.

Christmas Decorating Ideas

In the spirit of Christmas, in the 60's we used to do drive-by's to see "candy cane lane". I forgot which street it was (Luna or Mead or New England - one of those). All the homes for blocks were beautifully decorated. However, take a look at what today's technology can do - check the weblink.
