Some health updates. Abby and Joey 2-21-12

Well Abby and Joey came home from the hospital together. Had a few good healthy days. On Monday (Presidents Day off no school) Babcia took Maddie, Stevie and Lily Bowling. Then we went to the park to feed the ducks and geese. Then we went shopping. The dollar store always works best for a few items that they NEED. Went back to the house and got ready and went swimming at the association pool. Water was not as warm as usual, but kids jump in all the time. Dinner was at the house. By the time Dziadzia came over, Abby was not feeling to frisky all day long. Karen was worried about Abby, as was I. Then of course the cold sniffles caught up to them both.
Tuesday morning Karen took both of the little ones to the doctors office.
Doctor said that Karen needs to go straight to the ER with Abby. They will see her there. Stef came in to be with them all. Of course after being in there for quiet awhile, they told Karen that Abby will need a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit able to take care of her. This hospital was not really able to give the care Abby needed. They told her she has a touch of pneumonia. Soooooo Karen and Abby were transferred to Loyola Hospital via an ambulance. Steve followed with the van and Joey.

Meanwhile Karen's mom took Maddie Stevie and Lily to school. Picked them up after the day was thru and went back to her house. Steve drove Joey to spend the night with the other children at Grandma Dee's house. Steve and Karen spend the night in the hospital Loyola with Abby.

Today it is Wednesday, Abby seems to be doing better, but not out of the woods yet. Doctors feel it will be better to spend some more time being watched over in N ICU and so Abby and Karen will spend another night. Steve went home and maybe will take MSL to school on Thursday morning?? Don't know the plans that far YET...
As for this Babcia she has the sniffles and really did not want to "SEE" the kids or to give them what she has, a case of the sniffles also a cough that will not stop. Saw doctor myself today and got some cough RX. That's it nothing else, no fever, no strep for now.....

Abigail Joy and Jozef Michael Feb. 9, 2012

Our special twins have arrived to join the family. Babcia and Dziadzia are very happy and grateful for their health. Siblings Maddie, Stevie and Lily are so curious, happy and excited to have their new sister Abby and brother Joey finally come home. It has been a long 4 days not having mommy home.

All are ready to partake in this family lifestyle now. With 5 children at home it will be an adjustment for sure with all the routines to follow. Both Babcia and Grandma are willing to help out while this transition takes place. A very special Thank you to Karen and Steve for allowing Babcia and Dziadzia to be part of this birthing experience and being able to see your twins so soon after being born. Hugs and Kisses and Lots of Love are being sent to you both. Remember Love and patience conquers all troubles.

THEY ARE HERE ! ! ! ! !

Our newest grandchildren are HERE. Abigail Joy was born at 9:22PM and then followed by her brother Jozef Michael at 9:24PM on Thursday February 9, 2012. Abby weighed in at 6lbs and 20 inches long, Joey was 5lbs and 13oz and 18 long. She has him beat by lenght and weight. Also had TO BE first out in line. This makes 8 grandchildren for us now.

Karen is doing fine, she ended up having a C-Section due to Abby having her hand on her head and making the delivery a little too tight.

Stef is elated and still in shock now that he is a daddy of 5 kids. He spent the night at home after the delivery to be able to take the 3 kids at home to school in the morning and share his pictures and tell them about THEIR newest siblings.

Babcia and Dziadzia were present for the event and was Karen's parents Dee and Ken. We finally left the hospital at 11;;45pm.

It was a crazy start to this birth. I was at Karen's house waiting for her to go to her regular check-up at 5:30pm. I left to go pick up Maddie from school at 3;30pm, when Karen calls me, Mom my waterbag broke NOW. So I rushed back to the house, leaving Maddie to be picked up by the friend/neighbor who would be watching Maddie, Stevie and Lily either way when we went to the hospital for the BIG event.
Lily and Stevie were helping mom, getting her some towels as needed, till I got back.
Stef got home and they left. At the hospital Karen was checked out and still had no contractions at 6pm. BY 6;30 they came in and she was in labor till 8:45pm after that check-up her doctor decided it would be better to do a C-Section for the delivery of the twins. So that is where we ended for now.

Will post pictures when I get my camera to take some, as I dropped my camera on the floor at Stef's house when Maddie Stevie and Lily were giving me kisses to pass on to the TWINS . Took a few pictures with my phone, but the newest technology I am not so familiar yet with.

Have you been looking for news about us here??

Yeah, I know it has been a long time since last post. Seems like Facebook is quicker for me to post and reaches a lot more of our friends. Okay so there are some of YOU out there that DO NOT DO Facebook. So a little update.

Karen is 27 weeks pregnant and due with TWINS a boy and a girl late in February. Maybe even middle of February. Will keep you in touch. Maddie is in the second grade and just had a School program , which we had missed, due to it being on the same day as Julia's Birthday and Julia's Concert. Dad (Stef assured me that he had it taped for us to view soon). Stevie Maca is in Kindergarden and he is a whiz at all sports that he tackles. He just loves Gymnastics as does Lily. He is a very good swimmer and loves diving already. There is an indoor pool by Stef and Karens Condo Association. (Olympics watch out here he comes!!).Lily is in Pre-School and also loves swimming, tells me that she wants to be a Ballerina, (or does she just want ballet slippers?) Stef is still working at the same place as last time and still enjoys his time with Karen on Tuesday evenings when they go to play Billiards. (We love having Maddie Stevie and Lily at that time when they are out to play with us on Tuesday evenings.) Lily's 5th Birthday pictures we are at Chucky Cheese celebrating at her favorite place.

Suzia is now working at a company called RMI (Reproductive Medicine Institute) not her choice of jobs, BUT.. no school openings for her YET. She also is working part time again at SEARS. (Christmas gifts take a toll on the budget you know). Koy still working at CDW. Working on finishing projects that started a long time ago at home also. New kitchen looks wonderful. Floors and walls are done, now to get those cabinets that he made UP and usable. Ela is now in High School. Loves playing volleyball and the High School social setting and the high school level of learning things. Grades are still very high as they were in middle school.. Both of these girls have very good grades, Ela and Julia. Julia is in the 7th grade now and is the family sports jockey. (My kind of tomboy-girl). Has had her share of broken, dislocated joints, etc. She has played Soccer, Softball and now is in to Basketball. We just went to see a Northwestern WILDCATS game in Evanston with Stef and Stevie Maca. We stopped by to see the Bahaii Temple afterwards. Julia and Maddie making paper mache(?) Pinata's and never finishing them....Just another thing that Babcia dreamed up for the kids to do. . Stevie Koivun is also into Basketball and is the family investigator, loves all "Spying stuff". (Hint ! hint ! Santa are you listening??) Measuring up with Maddie on his 9th Birthday to SEE who is taller, Maddie is catching up quick to his height.
Stefan went on a Dragon Ride to North Carolina on his Harley this summer with some of his friends.
Stefan also has gone on his yearly "Toys For Tots" ride on his Harley. I understand there were over 10,000 riders on December 4, 2011 in the Chicagoland area. They drove from the South side of Chicago, all the way to Lane Tech High School to drop off their Toys for Tots. The temperature was a balmy 45-48 degrees that day. Even though we had stayed up till 3am the night before talking with some friends after the Christmas Party, he did get up at 7am to get ready to go on this ride. Ela so hungry she was eating the last of the turkey bones at midnight. Yummy the turkey was Deep fried.

I am getting ready wrapping all those gifts for our grandkids and for those family kids that need their gifts mailed out. With 2 more to add to our list for next year, I think I am getting the hang of getting gifts for ALL of our grandkids.
This year we are NOT driving to Florida to see my sister. My van needs some work done and the $$ is just not there to spend on gas traveling down there. (We had done this traveling for about 4-5 years I think? Old age I forget how many). So we will plan on being HOME this year as we have done in years past with family joining us for an evening of fun and midnight MADNESS.

I have included some Halloween pictures as well as Thanksgiving, Birthdays that followed in those months, Oct. Nov and Dec. I am sure you will be able to tell from which month they each are from. My mom with my brother on his 53rd Birthday at Red Lobster.Visits with some very special people and friends as time goes by. Names that come to mind are as follows, Dana and her mom Stella, Ciocia Wikcia for her 89th Birthday I took a trip with my mother in law for the day.
This year comes to a quick close SOOON. Hope to get to see you all and more friends in the coming year also.

Stefan's reaction to WHAT???

You are going to a pig pen for a mud fight???
Okay look into those eyes, are they getting to you yet????
If you stare long enough they seem to be moving....Isn't that creepy?
Well at least I got a laugh out of you today.

PIG PEN Mud Fight Sat 8-27.2011

Would you pay to have your kids and grandkids get DIRTY???? Well we did and we had a blast. Suzia and her kids and myself went to the Oswego Park District, they were having a one day mud fight.
We decided to go "see" and pay the $5.00 to "fight". It was well worth it to get IN the mud and have fun. Rinsing off in the cold water was not, but that's besides the point of having fun. After we got cleaned off we met Dziadzia for more fun. See next post we went to see the Fabyan Villa.

As you can see from the pictures, the kids Ela, Julia, Stevie and Suzia had a lot of fun.....

The start of IT all.

I got your baaaack.

Well now I am going to GET you.
